In the European Union (EU), there are several marking requirements for products from China that must be met in order to be sold in the EU market.
Some of the key requirements include:
- CE Marking: Most products sold in the EU must bear the CE marking, which indicates that the product complies with EU health, safety, and environmental protection regulations.
- Harmonized standards: For products that fall under the scope of EU harmonized standards, the manufacturer must demonstrate compliance with these standards before affixing the CE marking.
- Labeling: Products must be labeled in a way that clearly indicates the manufacturer's name and address, as well as any other relevant information such as the type and batch number.
- Documentation: The manufacturer must keep a technical file that contains all the relevant information and documentation necessary to demonstrate the product's compliance with EU regulations.
- Responsible person: The manufacturer must appoint a "responsible person" based in the EU who can be contacted by EU authorities in case of any questions or issues related to the product.
It's important to note that failure to comply with these requirements can result in significant penalties and the product being banned from the EU market.
